A Note from the Mayor
The Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off the first week of March with the Maumelle Expo. The annual business expo was March 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jess Odom Community Center. In addition to the expo, there was a business luncheon at noon the same day in the South Room at the community center. Guests heard an overview of the State of the City.
Lake Willastein Park and the surrounding neighborhoods will be the venue for the Maumelle 5K/10K RUN TO END HUMAN TRAFFICKING on March 10, 2018 at 8:30 am. There is a Special Election scheduled for March 13, 2018 to allow residents to vote on two capital improvement projects and a public safety tax. The polls will open from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm on Election Day. Early voting will start on March 6, 2018 at the Jess Odom Community Center through May 9, 2018 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. March 16-18, the Arkansas Run for the Fallen will make their annual run to honor Arkansas service members, who died in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. The runners will pass through Maumelle on Sunday, March 18, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. For more details, please visit www.arkansasrunforthefallen.org.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. at the Rolling Oaks Sports Complex. This annual event allows children, age 10 and under, the chance to collects eggs containing prize coupons. The children will participate in three age divisions. This annual event is sponsored by Maumelle Parks and Recreation Department, Maumelle Youth Council, Fred and Mary Peyton, and Allison Peyton Jones.
The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you informed about events in Maumelle, as well as what City officials and City departments are doing. If there is something specific going on in the City and you want or need more information, please contact us. We want to help you stay informed about your community.
