In 2017, single-family residential housing continued to grow with 60 new permits issued versus 53 in the previous year. Ridgeview Trails, Osage Hills, Chalets at Country Club and Maumelle Valley are the most active subdivisions for new construction.
There were 10 commercial remodel permits issued in 2017, including large projects at Maumelle Library, Kimberly-Clark and Molex. The Center on the Lake, Maumelle Charter High School, Sonic and Chick-fil-A finished construction in 2017 and are open to the public.
The permits office was busy in 2017. We issued 2,067 permits, which was a 20% increase over last year. The economy appears to have rebounded enough that citizens have the resources to do those overdue construction projects. In 2017, revenues from permits was
$ 213,848.00. This is an increase of 30% over last year.
Code Enforcement violations are a daily challenge. Code Enforcement officers issued 1,254 request for compliance tags, 42 citations to appear in District Court, and 30 storm water notices of violation.
