Maumelle Center on the Lake

COVID-19 SENIOR WELLNESS STATEMENT

Maumelle Center on the Lake is working to find a balance for members and staff as we move forward into 2021 with COVID-19.  It is with great pride and assurance that we that we share with you that it is our number one priority to uphold the health and well-being of our members and staff.

We want our community to be able to use our facility as we have been accustomed to in the past, however, we will have to modify the use of our facility to keep our members and staff protected. Members are asked to clean equipment before and after use.  Please remain 6 feet in distance while exercising and   you may take off your mask while actively exercising.

The Café is available for dine-in weekdays from 8:00 am to 10:00 am for breakfast and 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for lunch.  Be assured that tables are spaced 6 feet apart to allow for social distancing.  Curbside, to-go continues to be available weekdays from 8:00 am to 10:00 am for breakfast and 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to lunch.

While we wait/delay to offer in-house classes and events, we have met the challenge by offering those classes virtually through Zoom.  Participating in online classes may seem intimidating at first, but we have found that it is quite simple and will continue to be a part of our services as we commit to provide Members lifetime learning to maintain healthy body and mind. In-person classes and events must continue to socially distance a minimum of 6 feet apart for class room use and 12 feet apart during exercise classes.

Essential transportation has continued to be offered to our members for shuttle service or non-emergency, medical transportation services and shuttle services.

We attentively follow Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for fitness centers and cafes as follows:

  • Member & staff temperature and symptom screening
  • Physical distancing
  • Frequent disinfecting
  • Mandatory face coverings, covering the mouth and nose, when inside the building unless when actively exercising or eating in the Café.

Improving quality of life for Maumelle residents and allowing them “age in place” is the main goal for the staff and volunteers at Maumelle Center on the Lake. The benefits for a member of the center are endless. Educational health classes, fitness classes, finance classes, field trips and more allow each member to be as involved as they would like.
