Mayor's Message

If you are looking for an exceptional quality of life, Maumelle is the place to be. Maumelle continues to build on the legacy of the “Best Living in America” that was established by the founders of Maumelle in the 70’s. We have recently celebrated our 25^th Anniversary as an incorporated city last year and are looking forward to an incredible future.

According to the 2010 Census data, Maumelle is the third fastest growing community in Arkansas over 10,000 with 62.5 percent increase in population since 2000. The new Maumelle High School is currently under construction and will be open in the fall of 2011. This state of the art school will ultimately house 1500 students on a 90 acre campus with advanced technology throughout the facility. The City has just completed construction of tennis courts as a part of activities and programs offered through the Jess Odom Community Center. Other activities offered at the center include an outdoor pool, indoor walking track, cardio room, summer activities, team sports and various exercise classes.

Maumelle is well known for its volunteer spirit, having been named one of twelve volunteer communities in Arkansas for eight years in a row. If you want to plug in or give back to your community, I encourage you to become involved in one of the numerous civic or religious organizations in our community. It will improve your quality of life and the life of those that you touch.

Maumelle’s location near Little Rock and North Little Rock allows a diversity of entertainment opportunities, such as concerts, plays and college and professional sporting events that will meet or exceed your expectations. Maumelle is within thirty minutes of several well renowned hospitals that offer some of the best medical care available in the country. The Little Rock National Airport is only a brief distance, allowing a short flight to several major airports.
