Civil Service Commission Examinations

CITY OF MAUMELLE POLICE ENTRY LEVEL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION EXAMINATIONS
TEST DATE: Saturday, October 18, 2014.
LOCATION: Maumelle Senior Wellness Center.

Applications will be accepted between Monday, August 18 thru Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
NOTE: NO applications will be accepted prior to or after these dates.

Starting Annual Salary: $30,334 - An excellent fringe benefits package is also offered.

Qualifications for taking the exam are:

  1. Be a United States Citizen
  2. Be at least 20 ½ years of age on the testing date
  3. No felony convictions
  4. Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and other physical and/or psychological tests, as may be required
  5. Possess a high diploma or equivalent
  6. Possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license

THE PROCESS

    1. A passing score of seventy percent (70%) on the written test must be attained for consideration of employment.
    2. The names of the successful applicants shall be entered on the appropriate list in the order of their final score.
    1. In the event of tie scores, the Department of Human Resources shall separate those tied scores by a random process, such as drawing by lot; this process shall be witnessed and documented.
    2. The certified list shall be placed on file with the Director of Human Resources; and
    3. Applicants may contact t Human Resources to attain their score and ranking.
    4. The certified list shall remain in force and effect for the period of one (1) year from date of certification. At the end of this period, all right of priority under the list shall cease. A list may be deemed by the Civil Service Commission to be exhausted if fewer than three (3) available eligible candidates remain on the list.
    1. The list will then be forwarded to the Civil Service Commission for review and certification.
      1. The certified list shall be placed on file with the Director of Human Resources; and
      2. Applicants may contact t Human Resources to attain their score and ranking.
      3. The certified list shall remain in force and effect for the period of one (1) year from date of certification. At the end of this period, all right of priority under the list shall cease. A list may be deemed by the Civil Service Commission to be exhausted if fewer than three (3) available eligible candidates remain on the list.
    1. As vacancies occur in the respective departments the Chiefs shall request and receive the appropriate      names of the top three (3) candidates from Human Resources.
    2. The Chiefs or their designee shall contact the persons on the list provided by Human Resources and schedule the interviews.
    3. Steps 4 and 5 shall be repeated until all vacancies are filled or the list is exhausted.
