Minutes
March 9, 2011
The Maumelle Tree Board met Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 6:00p.m. at the Maumelle Community Center. Present were Dave Wahlfeld, Donna Meeks and Pete Rausch.
Dave called the meeting to order. A motion was made by Dave and seconded by Donna to approve the minutes of the February 2011 meeting. The motion carried. Donna gave the Treasurer’s report. The current balance is $1,883.81.
The Maumelle Boulevard tree planting is scheduled for Saturday, March 12. Bemis Tree Farm will be planting twelve trees – 6 Red Maples and 6 Shumard Oaks. Dave will accompany Bemis while they plant the trees.
Karen Holliday’s brother, Steve, is donating a large river birch to the board. Steve works at Arkansas Landscaping. The Parks & Recreation Department will plant the trees at Lake Willastein.
The featured tree of the month for April will be the White Oak.
The next board meeting will be the second Wednesday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Maumelle Community Center.
There being no further business, Dave adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
